3D Systems Acquires Two French Prototypers Print E-mail

Rapid prototyping firm 3D Systems Corp.,  Rock Hill, S.C., announced it has acquired the business and assets of CEP and Protometal, two French rapid prototyping and manufacturing service providers.

According to 3D Systems, Protometal delivers simulated die castings from additive manufacturing patterns, while CEP specializes in selective laser sintering manufacturing services and urethane casting.

According to a press release issued by 3D Systems, the purchases were part of a larger strategy to expand its presence in Europe.

“We are pleased to add two fine French prototypers to our rapidly growing operations,” said Abe Reichental, president and chief executive officer of 3D Systems. “We intend to continue with our geographical expansion within Europe and increase our menu of services for the benefit of our growing global customer base.”

3D Systems is a provider of 3-D printing, rapid prototyping and manufacturing systems and parts solutions.
