Grede Holdings LLC, Novi, Mich., announced its Iron Mountain facility, Kingsford, Mich., has received a supplier award for service and performance.
The facility won the 2009 award from Cummins Inc., Columbus, Ind., for best performance in “Management Attitude and Partnership in Response to Customer Demand.” In providing the reasoning behind the award, Cummins highlighted Grede’s improvements in demand flow, capacity utilization and maximizing output while minimizing expediting costs.
“We are honored that the customer…recognized our commitment to providing the best service, efficiency and leading-edge technologies in the industry,” said Doug Grimm, Grede’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Grede Holdings LLC was formed earlier this year through the combination of the assets of the former Grede Foundries Inc., Milwaukee, with Citation Corp., Novi, Mich. The company specializes in ferrous castings produced out of 14 metalcasting facilities and two machining operations in the U.S.
