Bremen Castings Inc. (BCI), Bremen, Ind., announced it has installed and begun the operation of a new broaching machine in its in-house machine shop.
The 15-ton horizontal broaching machine has a 72-in. stroke and is capable of broaching splines, hexes and keyways, according to a press release issued by the company. BCI added the new equipment to the 15 CNC machines it currently operates. The company’s director of sales and marketing Mike Menke said 65-70% of the new work BCI receives is for machined components.
“We’re after being a machine shop, and then a [metalcaster,]” Menke said.
BCI’s metalcasting facility is a green sand shop pouring gray and ductile iron for customers in a variety of industries.
