Released on May 26, 2009

Citation Corp., Novi, Mich., announced it has received the 2008 Navistar Inc. Diamond Supplier Award.

Navistar, Warrenville, Ill., gives the award to suppliers who exceed its performance expectations for quality, delivery and cost. Recipients also are acknowledged for being strategically aligned with Navistar’s business goals and for demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition from Navistar, as it validates the hard work of our employees and their commitment to superior performance at all levels,” said Doug Grimm, Citation’s chief executive officer.

Five of Citation’s facilities supply Navistar with chassis and power train components and systems for the company’s medium and heavy truck applications, including plants in Bessemer and Columbiana, Ala., Biscoe, N.C., and Berlin and Menomonee Falls, Wis.

Citation sold its aluminum diecasting and machining operations in March to automotive systems supplier Compass Automotive Group Inc., Franklin, Ind. In August 2008, Citation CEO Doug Grimm said the company intended to reduce its reliance on the automotive market and seek other opportunities, specifically in the railroad, wind power, construction and agriculture markets. Since undergoing a recapitalization in March 2007, Citation has closed two primarily automotive plants, one in Butler, Ind., and the other in Lufkin, Texas. Approximately four months ago, Citation purchased lost foam supply company Foseco-Morval, Bessemer, Ala.

Today, Citation employs 1,533 at 11 manufacturing facilities in Alabama, Indiana, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
