Released on March 26, 2009

Permanent mold conglomerate Stahl Specialty Co., Kingsville, Mo., and Alcast Co., Peoria, Ill., have executed a strategic alliance that will allow technology and resource sharing between the companies.

According to a press release issued by the Stahl company, the alliance is intended to lower costs through resource sharing and combine financial assets to offer stability in a time of supply chain distress, in addition to raising the technical skill of both companies.

Stahl manufactures and sells machined tilt-pour aluminum castings. Alcast provides machined permanent mold castings through its proprietary bottom-fill, electromagnetic low pressure casting system and CNC turning. Both companies serve the agriculture, heavy truck, construction, marine, recreational vehicles, and lawn and garden markets.

Stahl maintains more than 550,000 square feet of manufacturing space in multiple metalcasting facilities in Kingsville and Warrensburg, Mo. Alcast has more than 110,000 square feet of manufacturing space in its Peoria plant.
