Art caster Carolina Bronze, Seagrove, N.C., has added 4,500 sq. ft. of facility space and a variety of modern equipment to serve its target market of sculptors.
To fill the additional space, the metalcaster has added 3-D laser scanning, 3-D imaging and large scale CNC machining. With the new technology, Carolina Bronze can now scan a sculptor’s original model into its computers to produce a digital reproduction of the project.
The metalcaster’s new CNC center then can create a pattern in foam, wood, plastic or metal. Some of Carolina Bronze’s most recent projects include a 10-ft. figure of General Nathanael Greene for the city of Greensboro, N.C., and a Fire Fighter’s memorial in downtown Raleigh, N.C.
