Investment caster Signicast Corp., Hartford, Wis., recently was honored for Manufacturing Process Innovation at the 20th Annual Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Awards.
The awards, announced on Feb. 28 at a black-tie dinner and program at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, are intended to recognize Wisconsin companies that demonstrate a commitment to business excellence, while maintaining a positive impact on the company and the state, making Wisconsin a better place to live, work and play.
“We are extremely proud of our Manufacturing Process Innovation award, especially since it recognizes our efforts to reduce cost and customer lead times by investing in automation and technology,” said Bob Schuemann, executive vice president of Signicast.
A total of 63 Wisconsin companies were nominated for awards. The nominated companies were evaluated in areas such as growth, technological advances, product development, operational excellence/continuous improvement, commitment to employees and effective research and development. An independent panel of judges, with representatives from business, education, government and the media, selected the 2007 Manufacturer of the Year Award winners.
