Aluminum Association Gives Mercury Alloys Designations Print E-mail

Mercalloy high-ductility diecasting alloys, developed by Mercury Castings for Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac, Wis., recently were awarded alloy designations by the Aluminum Association.

The ultra-high elongation version of Mercalloy received the Aluminum Association Alloy 368.0 designation; the higher-strength version of Mercalloy received the Aluminum Association Alloy 367.0 designation.

Mercury Castings, a division of Mercury Marine, casts marine engine components, as well as custom components for external non-marine customers. A $2.3 billion division of Brunswick Corp., Mercury Marine and its 6,200 employees worldwide provide engines, boats, services and parts for recreational, commercial and government marine applications.
