Released on September 7, 2007

Dynacast Canada, Quebec, Canada, purchased the assets of a local zinc diecaster, adding to its existing diecasting facilities.

The small components manufacturer announced the acquisition of QZD, also of Quebec, and said it would continue to offer QZD customers zinc, aluminum and magnesium die castings in 14 additional global markets.

“Dynacast will enhance valued QZD customer relationships and provide our new customers a seamless transition with no interruption in service, while improving product quality and responsiveness within customer relationships,” said Simon Newman, CEO of Dynacast. “Our ability to provide expert part and process simplification, along with access to multiple metals, will result in better and more cost effective designs and manufacturing for the new customers we will be serving as a result of this acquisition.”

According to a press release by parent company Dynacast, which operates facilities in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region from its headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., Dynacast Canada has seen sales growth of 20% since 2002, as well as employee growth of 8.5% over the last three years.
