Hayes Lemmerz International Inc., Northville, Mich., announced it has been recognized by Nissan North America Inc., Franklin, Tenn., as one of its top suppliers in the U.S.
The Hayes Lemmerz automotive steel wheel facility in Sedalia, Mo., received a 2007 Quality Master Certificate in recognition of being among Nissan’s top suppliers based on quality evaluations from Nissan’s North American Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Quality, Production Control and Purchasing divisions. According to a Hayes Lemmerz press release, the award is based on year-long evaluations of supplier systems, incoming quality, response time, cost reductions capability, design support, timely shipments, product performance and Nissan’s own vehicle evaluation system.
Additionally, Hayes Lemmerz Sedalia Operations and the company’s automotive brake facility in Monterrey, Mexico, were named 2007 Nissan Zero Defects Award winners. The award is presented to suppliers that ship fewer than three defective parts per million in a year’s time.
