Design Successes 2008 Casting of the Year The 2008 Casting of the Year award was presented to Carley Foundry Inc., Blaine, Minn., for the oil tank it cast for Harley Davidson. The semi-permanent molded aluminum casting was chosen over a plastic design initially conceived by the customer. Using a unique surface finishing technique and subcontracted machining and painting, the metalcaster delivered a complete part to the customer.
